John Points to Jesus

Biblical Basis • John 1:19-34
God sent John the Baptist to prepare the way for the coming of Jesus. John was in the wilderness baptizing people in the River Jordan, when Jesus himself came and was baptized. He proclaimed Jesus to be the "Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!"

Lesson Prayer
Gracious Father, you ask us to prepare the way for Christ in our lives in the same way that John prepared the way for Jesus. Help us to put aside those things that distract us from your mission so that we might focus on sharing the good news of Christ. Thank you for using us as your instruments of grace in the world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
